a political party in Northern Ireland, formed in 1905 and led since 1995 by David Trimble . It is one of the main political parties that wants Northern Ireland to remain a part of the United Kingdom . In 2003 it had six Members of Parliament in the House of Commons but three of them resigned in protest at their leader’s support of the Good Friday Agreement .
