an Irish radio and television presenter. He was one of the first disc jockeys on Radio 1 when it opened in 1967, and later had his own chat show on BBC television (1984–92). He has a morning show on BBC Radio 2, Wake Up to Wogan , and is now perhaps best known as the presenter on British television of the Eurovision Song Contest , in which he gently makes fun of the whole event.
