Meaning of WRNS in English

( in full the Women’s Royal Naval Service ) ( also the Wrens )

the female section of the British Royal Navy . It was established in 1917 and until 1990 its members could not serve on ships. In 1993 the WRNS became officially part of the Royal Navy and ceased to exist as a separate section.
