four US outlaws (= criminals) in the Wild West . The best-known of the four brothers were Cole Younger (1844–1916) and Jim Younger (1848–1902). They were cousins of Jesse and Frank James , and the group was sometimes called the James-Younger Gang. Three of the brothers were captured and sent to prison after trying to rob a bank in Northfield, Minnesota , in 1876. There have been several films about them, including The Long Riders (1980) and American Outlaws (2001).
