a US director and writer of films. He won an Oscar as ‘Best Director’ for Forrest Gump . His other films include Romancing the Stone (1984), Back to the Future (1985), which he also wrote, Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), Death Becomes Her (1992) and The Polar Express (2004).
