Usage
Censure and censor are frequently confused. Censure means ‘express severe disapproval of’ ( the country was ~d for human rights abuses ) or ‘the expression of severe disapproval’, while censor means ‘examine (a book, film, etc.) and suppress unacceptable parts of it’ or ‘an official who censors books, films, etc.’.
