BERCILAK

[Arthurian] Lord of the castle wherein Gawain stays before his encounter with the Green Knight in Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. Bercilak, it is revealed is the Green Knight magically altered by Morgan le Fay. Gawain's life is spared due to his chivalrous conduct earlier during a series of trials at the castle administered by the Knight in his guise of Bercilak.
