[Judaic] "Strength of God". He is one of the four greater prophets. In 598 BCE he was carried captive to Babylon, where he entered the prophetic calling in the fifth year of his captivity. The chapters 1.-24 of his book contain predictions before the fall of Jerusalem, and 25.-48 predictions after that event.
