HERNE

[Folklore] Herne the Hunter, mentioned in the Merry Wives of Windsor has only a vague legend in England. His area was around the old oak in Windsor Forest. Herne obviously belongs to the large community of spectral hunters. In Germany, such as hunter was known in the Black Forest, and there was one in the French Fontainebleau (identified with St. Hubert).
