KIHUNAI

[Native American] The beings who inhabited the world before the Hupa (California). The Kihunai are believed to still be living east, west, and south of the Hupa, as well as above them. The culture hero Yimantuwingyai is leader of a group of Kihunai to the north (across the ocean).
