OJANCANU

Meaning of OJANCANU in English

[Folklore] These monsters are the Cyclopes of Cantabria, much alike the tártalo of the País Vasco. They are very much feared and nobody wishes to encounter them. The ojancanu is so beast-like, so cruel and so ugly with his single eye, that anybody seeing him will flee in horror. His wife, the ojancana, is even crueler and uglier than her husband. Her ugliness is increased by her breasts, so long that to run she puts them over her shoulder. The ojancana loves blood. Fortunately, ojancanus live in caverns and are not very active.
