PANDAREUS

[Greek heroic] The son of Merops (1). He was a friend of Tantalus and stole at his request a bronze dog from a temple of Zeus on Crete. According to some sources, he was turned to stone for this, while others say he fled to Sicily. He was the father of Aedon.
