PETER

[Other] A fisherman, resident at Caperneum, originally named Simon or Simeon. After his calling he changed his name into Peter. He is the founder of the Christian Church among the Jews, and was the spokesman of the apostles. Peter is the author of two epistles. His first dated from Babylon, his second is his valedictory.
