TENES

[Greek heroic] The son of Cycnus (2). He was falsly accused by his stepmother and his father, believing her lies, locked his son in a chest and had it thrown into the sea. The chest washed ashore at Tenedos where Tenes became king. The islanders worshipped him as a hero.
