Meaning of TOM THUMB in English

[Arthurian] The dwarf of King Arthur. He was a populary literary character during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries who features in several popular ballads and literary compositions. He owes his greatest fame to Henry Fielding's work Tom Thumb, A Tragedy (1730). In this story Tom is loved by the Queen of the Giants, but is himself in love with Arthur's daughter.
