VENTOLINES

Meaning of VENTOLINES in English

[Folklore] 'Little winds". Small and gentle spirits of the wind in Cantabria (northern Spain), they have an angel-like face, big green wings and eyes as white as the sea's foam. Unlike the Núberu, evil genie of the tempest, the Ventolines like to help people and hate destruction. They are particularly good willing towards fishermen, and when one of them is very tired of rowing and prays to them, they send a gentle breeze that will push the boat safely towards the port.
