[Polynesian] The Maori (Polynesian) lizard-god of the dead, evil and darkness. He lives in the dark misty underworld and is accompanied by a group of evil spirits. He inspires evil thoughts in the minds of people. Whiro is the antipode of Tane, the god of light and fertility.
