[Hindu] In Hinduism, Yama is the god of death and the protector of the southern hemisphere. He is one of the Lokapalas (the world guardians), as well as one of the Adityas. Yama has a green body, wears red clothing, and rides on a black bull. In his left hand he holds a loop with which he pulls the soul from the body of the deceased.
