YAUN-GOICOA

[Basque] The Basque seem not to have had an elaborate mythology, but they did believe in a universal god, Yaun-Goicoa. He created the three principles of life: Egia, the light of the spirit; Ekhia, the sun, the light of the world; and Begia, the light of the body. There is no evidence of an extensive cosmogony such as that of the Indo-Europeans.
