Meaning of POTHOLE in English

(1) A deep hole or pit, especially a deep, round hole formed in the rock of a river bed by gravel whiling in water. (2) A rough hole formed in a road surface from a combination of weathering and the wear of vehicular traffic. Also referred to as Chuckhole.
