STORATIVITY

The volume of water that a permeable unit, i.e., aquifer, will absorb or expel from storage per unit surface area per unit change in head. In an unconfined aquifer, the storativity value is equal to the Specific Yield. The specific yield of the aquifer can be used to estimate the time between when pumping begins and equilibrium groundwater conditions are reached.
