TOXICOLOGY

The study of chemical agents that cause diminished health and death in organisms, including humans. The study involves the chemistry, recognition, identification, measurement, distribution, and metabolism of hazardous substances to which organisms are exposed. The science also includes the prediction of potential adverse effects of chemicals on organisms, including humans.
