D ynamic D ata E xchange. When 2 or more programs that support DDE are running simultaneously, they can exchange information and commands. For example, a spreadsheet with a DDE link to a communications program might be capable of keeping stock prices that are displayed in the spreadsheet current with trading information received over the communications channel.
