ZIF SOCKET

The Processor in most modern PC 's sits in what is called a ZIF ( Z ero I nsertion F orce) Socket. The idea is that it is easy to insert a new chip . A lever is pulled to get the chip out, plug in the new chip & throw the lever to lock it in place.
