Biggs, Ron ‧ ald /bɪɡz, ˈrɒnld $ ˈrɑː-/ BrE AmE

(1929– ) a famous British criminal who took part in the Great Train Robbery in 1963, and later escaped to Brazil. The British police tried several times to bring him back to the UK, but were never successful. In 2001 he decided to return to the UK because his health was poor and he was sent back to prison.
