(1904–44) a US musician, band leader, and ↑ composer , whose ↑ swing music was very popular during World War II. His most famous pieces of music are In the Mood and Moonlight Serenade . He was flying in a plane from England to France in 1944 when it disappeared, and neither the plane nor any bodies were ever found.
