an area of northern Paris on a hill, which is famous for the large white church of Sacré Coeur and for its bars, restaurants, and ↑ nightclub s , including the ↑ Moulin Rouge where the 19th century artist Toulouse-Lautrec did paintings of the dancers and singers. In the late 19th and early 20th century many artists lived and worked there. Now it is popular with tourists.
