Sy ‧ al, Mee ‧ ra /ˈsaɪəl, ˈmɪ ə rə/ BrE AmE
(1963–) a British actress and writer whose family originally came from India. Her novels include Anita and Me . She also appeared in the popular UK television comedy programmes Goodness Gracious Me and The Kumars at No 42 . Her comedy typically makes fun of Asian people who are living in the UK, but in a kind rather than unkind way.
