RITUAL ABUSE

Ritual Abuse : Involuntary psychological, physical, sexual or spiritual maltreatment, associated with a (normally religious) ritual. There is typically one accidental death per year in North America as a result of ritual abuse in the form of a conservative Christian exorcism. Satanists have been widely perceived during the 1980's and early 1990's of perpetrating Satanic Ritual Abuse (SRA) ; it appears to have been a hoax.
