RESTIFIED, RESTIFICATION

Hot Rod slang. When you fix up an old car, but only kinda sorta restore it. Not totally custom, but not restored to original condition either. Nice, original-looking car with personal touches and modifications. Example: I did a ground up restification of my Dad's old Hudson. It's a '32 cabriolet, but with a 1950 OHC V8, and the rear-end is an indi off of a jag.
