SLASHDOT

v. to generate enough activity to bring a system to it's knees, specifically a webserver. From the site slashdot.org, whose news stories are links to other sites, which then almost immediately bog down. Example: I was going to read that cool article, but the site's slashdotted. Anywhere there's a natural disaster and relatives try to call loved ones, the phone system gets slashdotted.
