(n) Microscopic germy or dirty organism that you can't see but know that is there just waiting to inflict any of a myriad of physical ailments--allergies, itchy rashes, etc. Example: (n) The couple almost gagged at the thought of sleeping in the hotel's snaggle-filled mattress. (adj) The snaggly gas station bathroom seemed never to have been exposed to cleaning products.
