ARCHIE

Distributed- system -based software that searches indices of files available on public servers on the Internet . Note 1: Archie servers may provide access via telnet , E-mail, or a special Archie client . Note 2: Using Archie requires a user to be familiar with where the indices are located, i.e. , the user must provide an Archie server domain name or IP address .
