GONDWANALAND

A large continental mass that at one time was part of a supercontinent formed during the late Precambrian era more than 500 million years ago. It consisted of Africa, South America, India, Antarctica, and Australia. Gondwanaland then became the major part of the supercontinent Pangea, which formed during the Paleozoic more than 200 million years ago.
