HALOCARBON

This is a halogenated hydrocarbon, the molecule that results from the replacement of one, some, or all of the hydrogen atoms in a hydrocarbon with atoms of the halogen group (flourine, chlorine, bromine). The chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) that have become pollutants in the atmosphere are halocarbons.
