: a child's game of many variations in which a player tosses a small flat stone or similar object consecutively into the lined and numbered areas of a figure outlined upon the ground, hops on one foot through the figure and back to the area in which the stone lies, picks up the stone, and hops on out trying to avoid errors (as stepping on a line or losing balance)
