: a yellow crystalline flavonol glycoside C 27 H 30 O 16 that is found in rue leaves, tobacco leaves, buckwheat, flower buds of the Japanese pagoda tree, and other plants, that yields quercetin and rutinose on hydrolysis, and that is used chiefly for strengthening capillary blood vessels (as in cases of hypertension and radiation injury)
