MOBILE RIVER


Meaning of MOBILE RIVER in English

river formed by the confluence of the Tombigbee and Alabama rivers, southwestern Alabama, U.S. It enters Mobile Bay after a southerly course of 45 miles (72 km) through the delta region. With its tributaries it drains 42,300 square miles (109,600 square km). Mobile, on the west side of the river near the head of the bay, is its chief city and a centre for the heavy volume of river traffic.
