Meaning of GARRETT in English

(1850–1908)

a sheriff (= law officer) in the American Wild West , who arrested his former friend, the criminal Billy the Kid , in 1880. When he escaped, Garrett chased him for months and finally shot him at Fort Sumter, New Mexico , on 4 July 1881.
