the queen of England, Scotland and Ireland from 1688 to 1694. She was the elder daughter of King James II , and married William of Orange (later King William III ), her Dutch cousin, in 1677. After James II was removed from power in the Glorious Revolution of 1688 she and William ruled together until her early death at the age of 32.
