1. a pub which is owned or controlled by a particular company and sells the beer produced by that company. Compare free house .

2. ( also tied cottage ) a home rented to somebody, especially a farm worker, by their employer, who owns it. The person can only continue to live there if he or she continues to be employed by the owner.
