(1943–) a US ↑ quarterback who played football professionally from 1965 to 1978. He was called ‘Broadway Joe’ because he was also an actor, and he appeared on television in sports programmes after he stopped playing. He was also known for appearing in an advertisement for women’s PANTY HOSE .
