He and his brother Chagrï took refuge in Khw 0101; rezm in Central Asia after being defeated by Mahm 016B; d of Ghazna . Later they entered Khor 0101; s 0101; n (northeastern Iran), where they gradually built a power base, returning to defeat Ma 1E25; m 016B; d's son (1040). Chagrï took over Khor 0101; s 0101; n, and Toghrïl prepared to conquer the rest of Iran. In the 1040s he extended his authority to Rayy, Hamad 0101; n, and E 1E63; fah 0101; n, and in 1055 he entered Baghdad, where he had been commissioned by the caliph of the Abb 0101; sid dynasty to overthrow the Sh 012B; 02BD; ite F 0101; timid dynasty . In 1060 Toghrïl crushed a rebellion in Baghdad.
