French Rococo painter, tapestry designer, and illustrator.
Like his paintings, Oudry's tapestries were highly regarded for their tonal subtlety and lively study of nature. His services were sought by Louis XV , who commissioned him to paint portraits of his dogs and appointed him official painter of the royal hunts.
