U.S. stock-car racer.
He began racing stock cars in the early 1960s. He was the first to win the NASCAR championships for three consecutive years (1976–78). He also won the Daytona 500 three times (1968, 1977, 1983) and the Atlanta 500 four times (1967, 1968, 1974, 1981).
