Meaning of ALBERT CANAL in English

waterway connecting the cities of Antwerp and Lige in Belgium. Completed in 1939, the Albert Canal is about 80 mi (130 km) long, has a minimum bottom width of 80 ft (24 m), and can be navigated by vessels of 2,000 tons having a maximum draft of 9 ft (2.7 m). Traversing a highly industrialized area, the canal has six sets of triple locks and one single lock at Monsin (Lige).
