Meaning of BOURBON, JEAN I, 4E DUC DE in English

(4th duke of) born 1380/81 died 1434, London count of Clermont (from 1404) and duke of Bourbon (from 1410), who was a champion of the House of Orlans in the Hundred Years' War. He helped lead the Armagnacs in their resistance to the English king Henry V's invasion of France but was captured at Agincourt (1415) and brought to England. Despite payment of his ransom, Henry never freed him.
