EUTYCHIAN

a follower of the 4th5th-century monk Eutyches (q.v.), who advocated a type of Monophysitism, a belief that Christ had only one nature (see Monophysite). The doctrine of Eutychianism is considered heretical by the Roman Catholic Church.
