GURGAON

city, southeastern Haryana state, northwestern India, situated between Delhi (northeast) and Rewari (southwest), to which it is connected by road and rail. Sometimes called Hidayatpur, Gurgaon is an agricultural trade centre. In the surrounding region, irrigation by wells supports cultivation of grains and oilseeds. Pop.
