HOTSPUR

byname of Henry Percy, fictional character, the irascible foil to Prince Hal in Shakespeare's Henry IV, Part 1 and Richard II. The son of Henry Percy, earl of Northumberland, Hotspur is an honourable, impatient soldier who seeks fame on the battlefield. He leads a rebellion against King Henry that fails and is ultimately killed by Prince Hal.
